About Us

Who we are:

Komkan africana institute is a multicultural education, community social justice, and innovative research agency aimed at bridging the wider cultural gap of newcomers’ social integration and inclusion of delivering services. The institute empowers the newcomers’ communities and provides employment skills training required by the disadvantaged communities.  Komkan provides unlimited opportunities to the grassroots african communities and strengthens the community’s capacity through education, research, and skills development. The organization response manifests through tailored bridging services in education, advocacy, mental health support, and culturally appropriate outreach programs. Komkan is an interdisciplinary institute that seeks to heal poverty and trauma through cultural teaching, research and evaluation and public health education. Komkan engages in training community leaders and spiritual leaders to find solutions to rebuild material, social and spiritual poverty.

Vision:

Komkan envisions a prosperous, healthy, and safe community with provision of unlimited opportunity. We provide a platform to transform the livelihoods of newcomers for employment success, cultural practices, and equitable services delivery.
